New Orleans SC

New Orleans SC is a personal project of mine that is still in full development. The design prompt I gave myself was to create a Major League Soccer team for a city that did not have one yet.

My initial sketches were created in tandem with my research on what the logos of Major League Soccer and other soccer leagues around the world are made up of. I found that most, if not all of them are simple, crest based logos that act as symbols of the city/region that they’re located within.

My initial steps to make the final crest were mainly focused on trying to find a way to implicate the fleur-de-lis into the design somewhat subtlety, as its a very common design element for multiple sports teams across the world.

Colored like Mardi-gras, The final logo invokes the Fleur-de-lis while also invoking the royal history of the city and the fun loving and memorable attitude the modern city has cultivated.
